Hello Parents / Guardians,
Please enter your child’s arrival travel information by midnight Sunday, May 12th. Any travel requests or changes after this date will have to be arranged by the student/parents.
It would be very helpful, for the coordination of student pick up/drop off, if a note could be made in the MySchool comments section that your child is bringing a bicycle, boxes, skis, or more than 2 bags of large luggage.
Early Leave or Late Return Requests
Requests for early leave or late return must be submitted in advance.
Extended leave requests—where the student is missing two (2) or more days of academic classes—should be brought to the attention of Deputy Head - Student Life Liam Sullivan (liam.sullivanbrentwood.ca). Short leave requests—missing fewer than two days of school—should go to that student's Houseparent for approval. In the event the request is approved, the School will provide transportation, if available (charge applicable). If school transportation is not available, the student/parents will be notified and will be responsible for booking and paying for the taxi.
When booking flights, please note the approved leave dates and times. Students will not be charged if they travel within these times. Any transportation outside of these approved leave dates and times will result in a charge of up to $120-$140 each direction.
Brentwood will supply transportation for the following (all times are PST):
Victoria Airport – please note: we do not provide travel to or from Nanaimo Airport.
Departure - Friday, May 17th, buses will start leaving campus at 3:30am. Flights on this day should be booked to leave Victoria from 6:00am onwards.
Return - Tuesday, May 21st flights should return before 8:30pm, if possible.
Ferries - Brentwood travel will arrange for departure ferry tickets. Students are responsible for their return ticket.
Departure - Friday, May 17th, 9:00am Swartz Bay sailing from Victoria or the 9:05am Departure Bay sailing from Nanaimo.
Return - Tuesday, May 21st , students need to be on the 5pm sailing from Tsawwassen to Swartz Bay or the 3:55pm sailing from Horseshoe Bay to Departure Bay. The only scheduled bus pick up times are 6:35pm at Swartz Bay and 5:35pm at Departure Bay.
Clipper - Victoria / Seattle - www.clippervacations.com/seattle-victoria-ferry/ Students are responsible for their ferry tickets both directions.
Departure - Friday, May 17th, 5.30PM Sailing
Return - Tuesday, May 21st , 8.00AM Sailing
Float Planes - please note: we do not provide travel to or from Maple Bay.
Nanaimo – Sea Air
Departure – Friday, May 17th, flights should depart after 9:00am as these students will travel with the Nanaimo Ferry bound students. Brentwood transport will be unable to accommodate travel for flights before this time.
Return - Tuesday, May 21st , flights should return before 8:30pm, if possible.
Victoria – Harbour Air / Kenmore Air
Departure – Friday, May 17th, flights that depart after 3:30pm.
Return - Tuesday, May 21st , flights should return before 8:30pm, if possible.
Picking up from the School
If you are planning on picking up your child from school or do not require school transportation, please select the option, Brentwood Gates. This lets the Houseparent and Transportation Department know that you have made other arrangements for your child.
How do I enter travel information?
Please login to MySchool (http://myschool.brentwood.ca), and click Travel System on the left hand navigation to enter your travel details for this travel period.
